Greetings from St John’s Church, Linlithgow to Harvest India

10th November 2005

It was good to hear news from you when Hazel returned from her mission trip and so encouraging to see how God is at work through Harvest India in such powerful ways. Hazel gave us a full report of her visit and left us in no doubt about the extreme physical and spiritual needs of the people she met and of the amazing power of God at work.

We are sending this gift to you which we would like you to use to buy nets for the fishermen whose lives have been devastated so much by the Tsunami. We were so moved by Hazel’s photos and stories of what she had seen and were compelled to make a contribution which would help some of them. The money we are sending was from an offering taken at our “Harvest Service.” This was a day when we took time to say thanks to God for his provision to us in this last year. We actually hung two nets up in the school room where we meet. In one we put things that reminded us of the blessing we had received and the things we wanted to say thanks for. The net soon filled with all sorts of objects that were testimony to God faithfulness and provision. The other net was empty and I told people that for many fishermen in India this was what they were facing – no nets no boats no fish and no food. We then took an offering and placed it in the empty net and prayed for new nets that would be filled with fish.

That’s our prayer, that people would have what they need to provide for their families and that you as fishers of men would see your kingdom nets bursting with lives born anew in Jesus.
