Micro-Credit Projects
We are committed to helping people raise themselves out of poverty. One way to do this is to give small loans to enable them to establish small businesses.

We launched two pilot associations in March 2007 and are getting reports that already the members are seeing big improvements in their lives. Not only that, the loans are being repaid sooner than we stipulated or expected.

"Let us work together"

A group of six helpers at the Alpha nursery (4 women and 2 young men) have banded together to help one another to improve their economic status.

On Eagles Wings has provided a small loan to enable them to start up small enterprises. These range from selling 'igitenge' (dress lengths of colourful printed fabrics which are hugely popular among local women); setting up two chicken projects - one to produce eggs and the other to supply chicken meat to hotels and restaurants; and one vegetable growing project.

"New beginnings"

A group of seven young men from the Mango Tree Church who have joined together to purchase a motor cycle to run a taxi service in the locality. Motor cycle taxis are a common sight in Kigali and a very popular and relatively cheap means of transport for the locals.

The loan was entrusted to Rev Anastase Mashyaka of Remera Parish who will oversee the project and act as a mentor to the members.
